Tracing a new DIGITAL PATH for FRANCO MARIA RICCI MAGAZINE

FMR Magazine

In 1982, Franco Maria Ricci launched his eponymous magazine, devoted to unveiling hidden art and beauty: a hymn to the ephemera of life. With contributions from literary masters such as Italo Calvino and Jorge Luis Borges, it soon became a benchmark of Italian publishing art industry. We worked closely with the FMR team to translate its distinctive soul into the digital realm, preserving the visual language of the print editions and honoring the publication’s enduring legacy.

Honoring the heritage
To achieve this, the new website acts as a carry-with-you issue: faithful to FMR’s original aesthetic and typographic identity, with its signature black-background photographs and texts set in Bodoni typeface chosen by Franco Maria Ricci himself.
Enhanced layout
In this iteration, images move in sync with the text, improving readability and deepening the imagery of each article. What is described now unfolds in real time.
Archive
The platform becomes a true treasure vault, celebrating the materiality and precious nature of the works it showcases. It houses the brand’s vast archive through an editorial lens, with an integrated e-commerce dimension that extends the life of the printed edition.
Social media
The brand’s social presence was reimagined through a contemporary visual language that echoes its renewed identity. A more fluid system of guidelines and imagery now elevates readability and creates an intuitive experience.
Animations, illustrations, and 3D visualizations intertwine, bringing the collection to life across multiple dimensions.
